Cassandra Harris, Venturespring, shares her experience with The Sunday Times
Cassandra Harris worked at the media agency Mindshare before founding her first business, an online retailer called Atelier-To-Go. Harris, 36, started angel investing after selling her stake.
Based in London, she invests directly and through Venturespring, which she co-founded to connect entrepreneurs with big companies. She has backed Taylor Morris Eyewear, a sunglasses maker founded by Made in Chelsea’s Hugo Taylor, and Petbu, a website that documents pets’ lives.
There are lots of ventures that come and go, and you have to be prepared that some will fail.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. If you want to make investing lucrative, you need a big portfolio.
