Failure Happens: expect it, embrace it, excel beyond it
|Location:||RISE London, Auditorium, 41 Luke Street, London, EC2A 4DP|
For our final live stream event of the year Barclays’ High-Growth & Entrepreneur team has joined forces with four exceptional panelists to lift the lid on failure in an open debate at RISE London. The autopsy of any failed business is difficult, especially when it’s your own. Learning from your mistakes and more importantly sharing your experience is extremely difficult but you’re not alone.
Join us on Tuesday 14th November for the final event in our 2017 series of #HighGrowthLive. Richard Heggie, Head of High Growth and Entrepreneurs at Barclays will be joined by the following panellists to discuss their failures, the highs the lows and how they’ve shaken off failure to become a success in their own right.
• Gerald Ratner, former Ratners Group: Probably one of the UK’s most infamous business failures leading to the collapse of his £500million company overnight. A fantastic speaker and true inspiration to entrepreneurs that failure doesn’t have to be fatal
• Karen Darke, London 2012 Paralympic Silver Medalist and World Paralympic Champion: After a rock-climbing accident at the age of 21, Karen was left paralysed from chest down, changing her life. Since the accident Karen has accomplished some truly outstanding achievements and will discuss her personal road to recovery and success. Karen will provide us with a different view on the panel of overcoming adversity
• Alexei Levene, Desolenator: Alexei has had numerous companies across the globe, some successful and a number which have failed. Bouncing back time and time again Alexi founded Desolenator, a life changing solution to the global water crisis
• Damian Kimmelman, Duedil: After a failed digital agency resulting in the loss of 25 jobs and a £60,000 personal investment, Damian didn’t give up. Out of the depth of despair Damien started Duedil, which has now raised $22million of investment in just 10 months.
