Investing in Cleantech
The UK proudly boasts a number of growth-stage businesses that are at the forefront of the global Cleantech industry. The fast-growing sector is of high interest to private investors, particularly as it is experiencing rapid expansion due to ever-growing pressures on natural resources and the ecological impact associated with that.
This event gives private investors the chance to learn more about the sector and to hear from three companies, each looking for funding, and each with exciting new technology – Eco-Burner, Kelda Showers/Technology, and Powervault.
The event agenda/timing is –
• 17.15 – 17:30 Green Angel Syndicate
A Cleantech Macro Overview from one of the sector’s leading experts.
• 17:30 – 17:45 Eco-Burner Limited
The designers and manufacturers of Chafo, a revolutionary alternative to the traditional gel and wick product that is used to keep food warm.
• 17:45 – 18:00 Kelda Showers
Kelda Technology has developed and patented a revolutionary shower design that adapts high-end automotive and aerospace technology to deliver 2½ times the power for the same water use.
• 18:00 – 18:15 Powervault
Powervault is the UK’s first simple and affordable solar energy storage system for the home, which reduces your electricity bills by enabling you to use more of your own solar power.
• 18:15 – 18:30 Closing remarks from Growthdeck
• 18:30 – 20:00 Networking + canapés and drinks
As well as providing a macro sector overview, Green Angel Syndicate (GAS) are also hosting the event with Growthdeck. GAS is the only angel investment syndicate specialising in investments that benefit the green economy, with a particular focus on water and energy technologies. Launched in 2013, GAS provides sophisticated private investors with access to a dedicated source of investment opportunities focused on the Cleantech sector. GAS members have invested over £3m to date.
Co-hosting with GAS is Growthdeck, the online investment platform which launched in late January 2016 with plans to disrupt the equity crowdfunding sector. Growthdeck was launched to combine the wider accessibility of equity crowdfunding with the expertise and diligence of a professional private equity team. Over £1.8m has been raised via the Growthdeck platform to date, with two deals being completed – Pinkster, a raspberry infused gin, and Fissara, a SaaS resource management solution.
