Engine Shedis a collaboration between Bristol City Council, the University of Bristol and the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership at the heart of Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone. Our mission is to stimulate long term economic growth by supporting business, inspiring young people to get involved and to showcase to the public and potential inward investors the exciting opportunities that exist here.
The historic building close to Bristol Temple Meads provides home to events space, meeting rooms and a number of strategic ‘components’ organisations and projects that together make an exciting hub for activity where entrepreneurs, business leaders, academics, students and corporates can collaborate, inspire and be inspired, enable and be enabled.
The revenue that we generate from office spaces, sponsorship and venue bookings is partly reinvested into projects and services that will help our economy grow sustainably and inclusively. These projects include the work of a ‘Scale up Enabler’ to ensure our region is a great place to grow a business, and collaborative projects like the Walking Tours and ‘Engine Shed on Tour’ which engage young people with our work.
Engine Shed has a specific objective to increase access to investment for entrepreneurs across the region. We host an Angel Hub in partnership with UKBAA and run a Quarterly Investment Briefing event and newsletter to help investors to share, learn and network.
