Amazon bestseller iQualTech attracts £170k of crowdfunding on Seedrs
The startup that’s beating Beats raised £100,000 in just 3 days
In August, tech accessory startup iQualTech partnered with equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs. The ecommerce brand smashed its funding target of £100,000 in just three days, attracting 191 investors, with the campaign overfunding to £169,130.
With this in mind, it is hard to imagine iQualTech’s modest origins. Previously the Managing Director of a successful digital agency, iQualTech’s founder Zamir Cajee had noticed gaps in the market for reliable, quality tech products that were affordable. He decided to take a risk; leaving his job to launch iQualTech and exploit a sector dominated by brands like Dre Beats. His recipe for success? Hiring the people he knew and trusted: his wife Gayle and his best friend Andrew.
Fast forward three years and iQualTech is valued at over £3 million and is in Amazon UK’s top 1% based on customer service, with more 5* reviews than consumer giant Dre Beats.
An unequivocal focus on product quality is a key contributor to the brand’s success. Zamir and his team take pride in top quality products, ensuring that all own brand products are world class. As a result, iQualTech has a perfect 100% performance rating on Amazon across Europe.
“We don’t need expensive celebrity endorsements,” Zamir explains. “Our customers do it for us. We only sell products we ourselves use and love, taking customer feedback incredibly seriously and making tweaks to constantly improve and innovate the brand.”
Meeting its Seedrs target in a matter of days has given Zamir the tools to take his brand to the next level. Although iQualTech is a big name on the world’s biggest retail marketplace, Zamir is delighted with his crowdfunding win and has changed his outlook on expansion.
Zamir says, “Success feels even better when you can share it. I love the fact that I have been able to share [iQualTech’s] success with my wife and best friend, and now I have the opportunity to share its future success with 100 new investors on Seedrs and focus on driving returns in the coming years to those who have backed us.”
