Small businesses are estimated to account for 99.3 per cent of all private sector businesses. In 2015, the combined annual turnover of small business was £1.2 trillion, or 33 per cent of all private sector revenue in the UK. Despite being a vital sector, small businesses often don’t get the recognition they deserve.

In its inaugural year, the British Small Business Awards recognise and celebrate the nation’s best sole traders, micro businesses and small companies, as well as the service providers and advisers that support them.

ClearlySo works exclusively with businesses and funds from a wide range of sectors that have a positive social, environmental or ethical impact, whilst generating financial returns. ClearlySo supports their capital raising activity through financial advisory and investment readiness work, and introduces them to institutional and high-net-worth individual investors. To date, ClearlySo has helped more than 100 businesses and funds raise more than £100m in capital.

Speaking of the decision to award ClearlySo ‘Business Consultancy of the Year’, Ben Lobel, editor of smallbusiness.co.uk said: “The judges were impressed with the scale of ClearlySo’s experience, the power of its connections and its commitment to positive causes, making the company a worthy winner in this category.”

John Lloyd, Chief Marketing Officer of ClearlySo, said: “We are honoured to have received this award. This is a true testament to the hard work the entire ClearlySo team puts in every day to ensure the over 100 high impact businesses and funds we have helped receive the capital they need to scale their operations and impact.”
