Connected Investing shines a spotlight on regional funding initiatives
Earlier this year, our Connected Investing workshops, in partnership with Innovate UK, educated investors on two brand new regional funding initiatives; Innovate UK’s £3m Regional Angel Investment Accelerator (RAIA) and British Business Investments’ £100m Regional Angels Programme.
Over 600 people attended the four workshops run in Bristol Manchester, Newcastle and Newport where leading angels, VCs and innovators discussed the initiatives and how we can build a better-connected funding ecosystem within the regions.
60 speakers were featured across the workshops including Bruce Colley from Innovate UK who explained how the grants can help de-risk equity and Jake Ronay from Set Squared who shared his experiences and how Set Squared will support entrepreneurs in the regions.
The events also showcased the exciting developments that are happening in each of the regions; Manchester is moving ever-closer to reaching its potential as a world-class tech city, Bristol is making incredible growth in Robotics and Biotech, Newcastle is establishing itself as a hotbed of innovation and growth, and Wales has one of the strongest funding support networks designed to help the explosion of dynamic technology businesses in the country.

The feedback and reaction to the Connected Investing series has been incredible. We would like to thank our partner Innovate UK, our Gold Sponsors Greenaway Scott, NVM, Innovation Point, Ying De Group and CYBG, and all of our incredibly supportive community partners for helping to make Connected Investing such a huge success.
