36Unlocking Women as Angel Investors Part 2

This is the second in a series of events run by Angel Academe North called "Unlocking Women as Angel Investors". This time we're delighted to to have Simon Thorpe as our guest speaker. Simon is the UK Business Angels Association Lead Investor of the Year award winner and he'll be sharing his experience of angel investing with the group. As a regular investor in women-led technology businesses, board member and active supporter of Angel Academe, Simon is determined to hand over his title to a female investor next year. During the session we'll also hear from Clare Nolan of Tomorrow's Medicines, a technology business that has successfully raised angel finance to fuel it's growth. This will provide us with some interesting comparisons from each side of the angel investment journey. Who should attend:

  • Experienced angel investors especially women (and men who share our vision!)
  • High Net Worth women who would like to understand more about angel investing
  • Networks or firms with High Net Worth women amongst their membership or client base
  • Partners who may be interested in sponsoring or supporting Angel Academe in some way

Why attend:

  • Meet other experienced angel investors
  • Learn about the benefits of angel investing and how to get started
  • Hear about partnership and sponsorship opportunities

Speakers:

  • Simon Thorpe, UKBAA Lead Angel of the Year, Angel Academe board advisor
  • Clare Nolan, Co-Founder Tomorrow's Medicines
  • Gaynor Dykes, Angel Academe North
  • Sarah Turner, Founder of Angel Academe and angel investor

There are only 30 places for this event and they'll be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please book early. Please note: this event is specifically for angel investors, people interested in becoming angel investors and organisations who can support us. The event is not for entrepreneurs interesting in raising funds, but we'll be running other events in the future to connect entrepreneurs with our network of mentors and investors.
