The UKBAA Awards celebrate the founders and investors behind the UK’s most exciting high growth angel-backed businesses.

Lead Angel Syndicate of 2015 Award sponsored by the Angel CoFund is aimed at active angel investors working as syndicates, either
as part of a business angel network, or more informally, who have invested together, or reached a significant milestone in the past year.

Angel Academe was announced as the winner of the category by Kiki Loizou, Small Business Editor of the Sunday Times at the Tower of London Pavilion on July 1st at the UKBAA Awards Dinner 2015.

About Angel Academe

Angel Academe has a very strong pipeline of investment-ready, women-led technology startups. All which have been through a rigorous screening process. Angel Academe are a pro-women (but not women-only) angel investment group focussed on technology and creating diversity in the investing community. Over half of the angels are women and they support ambitious women-founded technology businesses.

The Judges felt that Angel Academe should be recognised for highlighting the importance of encouraging more women to invest and with a special focus on investing in growth potential women-led tech businesses.  The syndicate which includes also some men, is offering training for new women investors and has already demonstrated a keen appetite to invest in a number of women led businesses, whilst drawing on the skills of experienced investors to bring ongoing support to the portfolio businesses.

We look forward to following the Angel Academe growth story in the years ahead!
