Provenance raises £650k from Angel Academe and impressive list of investors
We’re especially proud to announce our investment in Provenance as they were graduates of our investment readiness programme (Entrepreneur Academe) way back in 2014. Founded by Jessi Baker, Provenance was one of the early leaders to track products along a supply chain on the blockchain — an exciting technology bringing a new layer of trust to the web.
Investing alongside Angel Academe are Humanity United, established by Ebay founder Pierre Omidyar; Merian Ventures founder Alexsis de Raadt St James; leading blockchain investors Digital Currency Group (DCG), startup accelerator Plug and Play Tech Center, as well as a selection of handpicked angel investors including Scott Bell, Co-Head of Consumer and UK Corporate Finance at Deutsche Bank, and John Taysom, founder of Reuters Venture Capital (RVC) and Board Observer of Yahoo and Infoseek.
Provenance has also assembled a board and advisory group of business leaders and sustainability champions including Brian Fitzpatrick, who helped sell Adap.tv to AOL, Gavin Starks, founder of the Open Data Institute, and Lily Cole, British supermodel. A record year of investments for Angel Academe
Since January we’ve also invested in Fiskl, Beamline Diagnostics, CENTURY.tech, SupaPass and followed-on in Pivigo. We’re about to close another, our biggest round ever, before we all disappear for a much-deserved summer break.
