Doctor-on-demand app Qured has closed a joint angel and crowd raise of 1.16m through  SeedLegals  and Seedrs, at a post-money valuation  of £5.16m.

Qured delivers doctors to your door around the clock via an easy-to-use app. It provides an alternative solution at those times of pressure, when you or your family need to be seen immediately by a doctor, but can’t face the hours waiting in A and E, or traipsing to the GP office once you finally have secured an appointment. The service is also 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – so it is not only convenient during the day, but also offers a much-needed option during the night.

Qured is paving the way for an affordable, flexible alternative to a stretched NHS, and has announced its expansion to cover London’s Zone 2, as well as Zone 1 and South West London.

To maximise this growth and expand both the services offered and the geographical span, three experts have joined the team to help support its pool of 450 registered medical professionals.

The new appointments include Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Sandeep Kapur, who brings 22 years of experience studying as a doctor at Guys Hospital in London and Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, USA, as well as working as a GP in South East London. Sandeep will drive Qured’s vision to take their door-to-door service to the next level and assist in further expansion across Greater London.

Qured also welcome Hiten Patel as Director of Sales. Hiten’s experience lies in working with start-ups to drive sales and expand business and he will be focussing particularly on the B2B market establishing Qured’s corporate offering.

Finally, the company is investing in its in-house technical team with the addition of a new Head of Development in Yann Borie. Yann’s role will be to continue the enhancement of the app to ensure user experience is improved with every update.

Commenting on the new additions Alex Templeton, Co-founder of Qured, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Dr Sandeep, Hiten and Yann to our growing team at Qured at such an exciting time in the company’s journey. From initially just covering Clapham to now providing our service to South West London and Zones 1 and 2 in just over six months is both fulfilling and exciting. It reinforces our belief that there is a heightened demand for an affordable and convenient healthcare service which works around people’s lives, offering easier, quicker and hassle-free access to primary healthcare.”

Formerly ‘Qure’ when it launched in Summer 2017, the tech start-up’s success positioned it as one to watch in the rapidly changing healthcare industry and it soon welcomed Deliveroo’s Managing Director, Dan Warne, to the board in late 2017.

Qured’s ethos is built on delivering convenient private healthcare, without the high price tag. For an appointment with a Qured practitioner at a time and location to suit the patient, prices start from £70.
