Vantage Power Win Best Investment in an Internet of Things Business Award

Vantage Power have won the UKBAA Best Investment in an Internet of Things Business.

The award, sponsored by Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIR), celebrates investment in high growth potential businesses demonstrating innovation in the area of Internet of Things (IoT), across a wide range of applications, recognising the role of the investors who backed them.

Vantage Power’s win was announced by Kiki Loizou, Small Business Editor of The Sunday Times, at the UK Angel Investment Awards 2016 at the Dorchester Hotel on 5th July 2016. The award was presented by Tom Yoritaka, Global Managing Director, Cisco EIR (pictured, right).

The shortlisted IoT companies for this award have clearly demonstrated their capacity for disrupting their market or industry and have successfully used angel investment and other relevant sources to increase their potential to achieve high growth.

Speaking of Vantage Power, the judges noted that the business demonstrates a highly disruptive technology, bringing an innovative Smart IoT big data solution to the huge global challenge of ensuring an effective urban public transport system. Vantage Power have mobilised investment from angels, corporates and government grants to support further development and shown clear added value from their investors.

Appyparking won the One to Watch Award. The judges commended appyparking for offering a pioneering smart data solution to searching for parking. The business has achieved significant growth so far, accessing both angel investment and also benefiting from the support of key corporate investors to back their further product development.
