Nummy was previously a table sharing app but has pivoted their business into a lockdown guide. After spending weeks in lockdown and constantly seeing restaurants going into administration, or forced to give 30%-35% to delivery platforms in order to stay afloat, Nummy founder Yiran Qin decided to build an app to champion restaurants and provide a one-stop-shop for information on restaurant reopenings in London. The webapp was built in less than a week and can be easily accessible on mobile devices browsers without the need for download. Users can find information on the safety measures, new opening hours, reservation procedures, and other helpful information such as outdoor space, pet friendly etc. Within 2 weeks of launch, the new Nummy app has attracted more than 1500 users and still growing exponentially. Nummy plans to continually update the app, include up-to-date information on government schemes such as #EatOutToHelpOut and expand within the UK.
